היום שוחררה הצהרה על שבוע הפיתוח של אובונטו הקרב ובא.
מדובר בשבוע של הרצאות על פיתוח בתחום אובונטו שיתקיים בין ה־25 ל־29 בינואר (2010), ההרצאות יעסקו בתחומים:
לכל הפגישות ניתן להכנס באמצעות חדר הצ’אט #ubuntu-classroom בשרת irc.freenode.net (או באמצעות Lernid).

לפני זמן רב יחסית ניסיתי לקדם משחק בשם 0AD. לפני כמה דקות קיבלתי תגובה מאחד המפתחים הישראלים המבקשת לעזור בקידום המשחק בתחרות, שתעזור בסופו של דבר למצוא עוד מפתחים למשחק. המשחק הוא כולו קוד פתוח, ולכן כולנו נרוויח 🙂
אז איך אפשר לקדם את המשחק בתחרות?
יש להרשם לאתר ModDB, הרשמה קצרה מאוד (עניין של דקה-שתיים לכל היותר), את ההרשמה ניתן לבצע מכאן.
לאחר שנרשמתם היכנסו לעמוד הבא, גללו למטה, ותחת הקטגוריה “Best Upcoming Mods and Indies” ביחרו ב־”Indie Games”:

It’s been a while I didn’t post anything, and that’s mainly cause I had no time.
Today Dolev Ravid, the LoCo leader of Ubuntu Israel agreed to change the favicon of the Israeli LoCo site and forums to the one Yaron Shahrbani have made, as a part of the mini-project STOP USING UBUNTU FAVICON.
The new favicon can be found in here:
what do you think..? It combines the Ubuntu icon and the Isreali Symbol, the star of david.
Yea, I know i’m going a little far with that mini-project, but it’s not for no reason. I hope that soon new proect won’t use that Favicon from the beginning.

Hey all,
Just before one week I wrote about a mini-campaign i’m running that asks from projects to STOP USING UBUNTU FAVICON.
Few days ago I have translated Lernid into Hebrew, and to check the results I’ve installed it, the translation just sat great on the app, but one thing bothered me…
The icon of Lernid is a small Ubuntu symbol. it is very not aesthetic, since it has only one size, and when running Lernid using a dock (AWN for ex.) it shows a big yellow-orange pixeled icon.
So if dealing with the icon anyway, why not to completely change it? I guess Lernid should have it own symbol, my idea is a graduation cap or a notebook with ubuntu symbol in it (after all it’s about Ubuntu). therefore I’ve reported a bug about that issue.
Because I’m not a graphic artist, and my guess is that Jono (the founder) isn’t either, I ask from you the readers to try thinking (and making if possible) a new icon, of course to forget to suggest it in the bug report, or we won’t notice you made one 😛
